What is The Blessing Challenge for Emerging Adults?
The Blessing Challenge for Emerging Adults is a seven-year initiative. The goal is for One Million Emerging Adults to commit to finding freedom in Christ by understanding and living out The Blessing.
By understanding God’s Blessing, Emerging Adults can discover their unique identity in Christ, find freedom from past hurts, strengthen their closest relationships, and begin to walk out God’s design for their life.
We challenge YOU to take The Blessing Challenge and commit to discovering and living a life of freedom by understanding the power of God’s Blessing!
Why is The Blessing for Emerging Adults so important?
In every person’s life, there is a deep need for their parent’s blessing, and for the blessing of other significant loved ones in their life. In Genesis 27, Esau misses his father’s blessing and we’re told he, “… cried out with an exceedingly great and bitter cry and said, “Bless me! Even me, also, O My father!”
The five things that Esau “missed” from his father are the same five things that help to build strong adults, kids, and even strong families today!
We all need the blessing. Some of us may have received the blessing from our parents, and others of us may have come form a background that was the opposite of blessing. Either way, the goal of the blessing challenge is to give YOU the gift of the blessing and allow that to transform your life into one of freedom – and allow you to pass on the blessing to others and your future family.
Who’s involved?
It’s amazing to us how many outstanding people and ministries are joining StrongFamilies.com, The Institute for the Blessing at Barclay College, and Focus on the Family, to say, “We’re in!” in calling one million people and one thousand churches to take The Blessing Challenge over the next seven years.
Ministries like Thomas Nelson Publishers, Marriage Mentors, Tyndale Publishers, Lifeway Christian Resources, B & H Publishers, AMFM, AACC, and churches across the country are saying, “We’re in! We believe God’s message of Blessing is something emerging adults, families, and children need today.”
Most of all we hope that YOU are going to join us in taking The Blessing Challenge and become one of the million emerging adults finding freedom in the power of God’s blessing.
How can I help?
Three ways!
First, please pray for the families, children, and emerging adults who are going to be taking The Blessing Challenge – that God would use that first step as a launching pad for their living the Blessing each day! Also, pray for the many churches who will be preaching about the Blessing, and calling families to make a commitment to move towards, not away from their loved ones – to choose to add to their life, not subtract. (Deut. 30:19)
Second, take the Blessing Challenge yourself and share it with others! There are so many emerging adults out there that NEED the Blessing and need to find freedom!
